15 min DONUTS!
I LOVE donuts, but they are kind of expensive compared to the benefits! Here’s a simple easy small donut recipe that I love with all of my heart!
Most of the ingredients you can probably find around the house! First, you need 1 and 1/4 cups of all-purpose flour! You need 2 tsp of (double-acting) baking powder, 1/4 tsp salt, 1/4 cup of milk (preferably whole, skim okay), 1/4 cup buttermilk, 1/4 cup granulated sugar, 3 tbsp melted butter, and 2 cups vegetable oil. You may want to use a coating such as glaze, powdered sugar, cinnamon, or sprinkles. That part is up to you.
Let’s get baking!
Preheat oil in a nonstick frypan over medium heat. Make sure to keep an eye on the pan. In a smaller separate mixing bowl, mix flour, baking soda, and salt. In a larger mixing bowl mix together the following wet ingredients: Milk, buttermilk, sugar, and melted butter. Now combine the dry and wet ingredients, mixing with a fork. It should turn into a doughlike consistency. Now once the oil is 350 degrees Fahrenheit, scoop out 1/2 tablespoonfuls of dough and begin rolling them GENTLY into balls. Place balls into the oil and fry until the bottom is golden brown, then flip and do the same on the other side. Once they are done, remove with a metal tool onto a plate lined with paper towels to drain the oil. Then roll in whatever topping, powdered sugar for example. Repeat until finished.
